Amazing scenery today - various colors of dessert rock - various formations of dessert rock. Drove through some blowing sand (much like our blowing snow up north!). We pretty much bucked a head wind most of the day - made it tough on the truck driving. Really made it aggravating for those following behind us! :-)
But talk about "nothingness"! There was nothing out there. Maybe a house here or there, off in the distance... one or two towns along the way... but HOURS of driving with nothing. So glad we filled the gas tank before we left!
Had to take a different route than originally planned - apparently US89 suffered a landslide in the spring and a whole section of road is just.... gone. We were a little apprehensive about taking a state road through the dessert - but it was fine.
Stopped for the night at Page, Arizona. Lots of internet issues here - can't post any pictures. Will try again later.
Trying to figure out the best place to go next... along with the best way to get there.
