Arrived in Crescent City around 2 this afternoon. Dropped the trailer off at the RV park and went sightseeing.
Went o the top of a lookout to whale watch (didn't see any); drove along the scenic route and stopped at "The Big Tree" and went hiking in the redwoods; went further down the road to Gold's Beach and saw a herd of elk (including 2 little babies); and then topped it all off by driving THROUGH a redwood tree (talk about a tight fit!).
Tomorrow we don't have to check out until noon so we'll probably go for a drive around the "loop" so we can see just a few more of these giant trees.
And it's COLD up here! Socks, jackets, no windows open (even cooking on the stove to add some warmth!). Guess we won't be needing pools for quite awhile now!
